Status: The government has launched a sub-scheme Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana which aims to formalise the unorganised sector of the fishery by creating a registry of the fish farmers, workers, vendors, and processors including fishery MSMEs for better delivery of the benefits. The government also provides better accidental insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana compared to the National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen (the previous scheme). i ii
