7. Completing National Register of Citizens in affected areas; NRC in other parts of country

Status: The National Register of Citizens (NRC) for Assam was finally published on August 31, 2019, including the supplementary list of inclusions and family-wise list of exclusions. At the national level, though the President of India and the Union Home Minister have spoken about carrying out a nationwide NRC, the government is still to implement it. ^{i ii iii}
