Status: Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Pradhan Mantri Matritva Suraksha Abhiyan (PMMSA) and Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) are key government initiatives on maternal healthcare service; and all have shown improvement in the past five years. For example, the number of women receiving compensation for wage loss and better nutrition during pregnancies/early motherhood under PMMVY has increased from 1.2 crores to 3.6 crores. Plus, the number of pregnant women receiving quality, free antenatal care annually under PMMSA has increased from 70 lakhs to 82 lakhs. Similarly, the number of hospitalisations under the PMJAY increased from 62 lakhs to 6.3 crores in the past five years; women form almost half of these hospitalisations. The percentage of institutional deliveries has also increased from 93.4% in March 2019 to 95.5% by March 2022. i ii iii iv v vi vii viii ix
